In Just One Day

A day is just 24 hours, but in one day your whole life can change. I know from experience that one episode can change your life and take your livelihood. One day can also make you rethink ideas and situations that could have changed your very destiny.

Some people allow things like unresolved guilt control their lives. I'm not talking about "good" guilt, which are the feelings of shame or remorse that keep us from doing something incredibly stupid or hurtful. I mean unnecessary guilt such as over-anxiety and self-loathing about that which can no longer be changed. You cannot undo the past, but you can control your future.

So it may help to remember that:

-In one day you can recognize where your feelings of guilt come from.
-In one day you can decide to make necessary amends to those you may have hurt.
-In one day you can decide to ask for forgiveness from others.
-In one day you can exercise your spiritual power and choose to be one with God and receive His forgiveness.
-In one day you can decide to be gentler with yourself and allow yourself to experience the healing balm of personal forgiveness.
-In one day you can resolve to learn from your past and not repeat your behavior.
-In one day you can choose to do something constructive with your guilt, and then continue every day until it is only a memory. And best of all, that one day can be today.
