The Power, Proclamation, and Promise of the Resurrection

(1) The Power of the Resurrection.
Philippians 3:10 "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death."

The church today has a lack of power because we trust more in our programs and plans than in the power of the resurrection. By putting our trust in the wrong things we've been robbed spiritually of God's anointing and power. Yes, we need a fresh touch of His power and His presence in our lives on a daily basis. Paul says that by knowing Christ through the power of His resurrection is necessary to receive the touch we need from on high. His power is still real today to all who believe and receive.

(2) The Proclamation of the Resurrection.
1 Corinthians 15:20 "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept."
The firstfruits were the first installment of a crop which foreshadows and pledges the ultimate offering of the whole.  It was used in ancient times of a birth certificate, a certificate of authorization, or an inheritance tax. The word implies something else or others are to follow.

It was Jesus that opened up the paradise side of hades when He rose from the dead.
Matthew 27:52,53 "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many."

Because Jesus came from the grave others will yet follow.  His resurrection is our certificate of authorization for you and me to be raised from the dead one day in the future.

(3) The Promise of the resurrection.
What is the promise of the resurrection?
-There will be a physical resurrection! The bodies of the saints will be raised and changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye according to 1 Corinthians 15:52.

-There will be a bodily transformation!
1 John 3:2 declares- "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is."

-There will be an eternal transition-1 Thessalonians 4:17 "So shall we ever be with the Lord."

YOU can know HIM today and have a complete understanding of the power of HIS resurrection. Once you receive it, you will proclaim HIS promise to everyone that you meet. This Easter season take time to experience the reality of the resurrection.
