Why God Allows Pain

Why God Allows Pain

Job 1:8-12 "Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord."

Every pastor pas experienced pain because pain has always been a part of spiritual growth. Just read the first two chapters of the Book of Job and you will see you are not immune to pain. It may not be physical, but the mental anguish of having to deal with an unruly member or a bad church situation makes you feel like Job when you are dealing with it. You wonder if God has taken His hand of blessing away from you because

God allows pain because He wants you to move forward, because we often won’t move unless circumstances force us to.  When times get tough, and believe me they sometimes do, you must remind yourself that no gain comes without pain.

There are some lessons you can learn from pain, loss, and difficulty that God will use to help you if you allow him to. They are;

(1) Move on from what hurt you, but never forget what it taught you.

(2) Just because you’re struggling with disappointment, it doesn’t mean you’re failing.

(3) Every supernatural success requires some type of worthy struggle to get there.

(4) ALL good things take time and growth.

(5) Stay patient and stay positive even when the pain doesn't seem to have an ending point.

(6) Everything is going to come together; maybe not immediately, but eventually.

Remember that there are two kinds of pain: pain that hurts and pain that changes you.  When you roll with life, instead of resisting it, both kinds help you grow in your faith. Weeping endures for the night, but joy comes in the morning!
