Complain Or Praise

Complain Or Praise

Job 2:7-10 "So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips."

Complaining changes nothing. Job lost everything important to him and so did his wife. It's bad on a dad when he loses a child, but how much worse on a mom? She lost all her children as well and she had had enough of this loss business. Her response was normal of any other wife who was going through something with her husband and she just let her frustration out. I'm sure she is not the only one who has felt abandoned by God at a critical time in their life.

Yet, those who complain the most, usually accomplish the least.  It’s always better to attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed. Job's wife complaints didn't change the situation, but they showed that even the most blessed can cave in when enough pressure is applied. Job just didn't go from being Mr. Perfect overnight to a loser because he was unfaithful to God or to her, but at that moment she couldn't see that. All she saw was loss, and that led her to complain and blame.

It’s not over when you suffer loss, but it’s over when you do nothing but complain about it.  If you believe in something great, keep trying to accomplish it.  Don’t let the shadows of the past darken the doorsteps of your future. The God on the mountain IS your God in the valley. Stop complaining and push past it in Jesus Name!

Spending today complaining about yesterday won’t make tomorrow any brighter.  Again, if you've been there you can speak from experience. When I took action instead of just complaining and lamenting about the wrong done to me, it improved how I now look at life.  Make that change and never look back because complaining over what might have been will never make it happen.

Regardless of whatever happened, remember that godly happiness only arrives when you stop complaining about your past problems and you start being thankful for all the problems you don’t have. Instead of asking "Why?" start believing, "Why not!"
