Your Journey (Part 3)
Life changes from moment to moment, and so can you.
When hard times hit there’s a tendency to assume your future holds more of the same. For some strange reason this doesn’t happen as much when things are going well. A laugh, a smile, and a warm fuzzy feeling are fleeting and we know it. We take the good times at face value in the moment for all they’re worth and then we let them go. But when we’re depressed, struggling, or fearful, it’s easy to heap on more pain by assuming tomorrow will be exactly like today.
If you don’t allow yourself to move past what happened, what was said, what was felt, then you will look at your future through that same dirty lens, and nothing will be able to focus your foggy judgment. You will keep on justifying, reliving, and fueling a perception that is worn out and false. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 3:18:
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
You can learn to roll with the punches that life gives you recognizing that God will not leave you nor forsake you. He never promised your journey would be easy, but He did promise He'd be with you. Don't justify the falsehoods, but be the best you that you can be. It will make every step that has to change easier when you take it.
