Your Journey (Part 2)
Philippians 3:13, 14 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
When you are young your expectations are few, but as you get older your expectations tend to increase with each passing year. The key is to understand that reigning in unrealistic expectations of how something “should be” can greatly reduce unnecessary stress and frustration.
With a positive attitude and an open mind, you often find that life isn’t necessarily any easier or harder than you thought it was going to be. It’s just that “the easy” and “the hard” aren’t always the way you had anticipated, and don’t always occur when we expect them to. This isn’t a bad thing because it just makes life interesting.
Your character is often most evident at our highs and lows. There are three things to remember that will help you on your journey through life:
-Be humble at the mountaintops.
-Be strong in the valleys.
-Be faithful in between.
On those real hard days when you feel that you can’t endure, remind yourself that your track record for getting through hard days is 100% so far and doesn't appear to be going anywhere else. Your journey will change so just keep pace with it.
