If my wife had all of the money she has
invested in baked goods or other dishes she has given away on a regular basis
in her lifetime we would be rich. For 45 years of marriage I have never seen
anyone sacrifice as much time and effort for others as my wife because of her
love for people. She always does what she does with a loving heart and with no
desire for anything in return. When the Lord takes her home I don’t know what
any of us will do.
This verse describes her to a T:
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are
true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever
things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these
things.
She is the real thing! There’s nothing fake
about her and that’s why I love her so. She has left her mark on many more
people than I ever will.
That’s why God wants us to be real. Not
egotistical or superficial, just ourselves. You see a life filled with loving
deeds and good character is the best epitaph for your tombstone. Those
who you have inspired and shared your love with will remember how you made them
feel long after your time has expired.
So carve your name on people’s hearts, not stone. What you have done for yourself alone
dies with you, but what you have done for others and the world remains eternal.
Just be real and someone will be better off.
