In All Our Tribulation

2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

This is a pretty straight forward verse from the scripture. We are able to comfort those who are in trouble because of the one that comforts us. The same God who provides us with our encouragement desires us to do the same to others that are seeking for answers in times of despair. Our heavenly Father has equipped us with the potential power to rescue hundreds of people who are facing tribulation and trouble.

According to Jesus He would pray that the Father would send the Holy Ghost to be our Comforter. His responsibilities were endless, but He specifically provides:

-An infilling of supernatural power marked by an outward expression of praise.

-A constant reminder of the words of Jesus.

-A comfort in the time of trouble.

Jesus said in Mark 16:15-18 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

As the old song reminds us that we are "to rescue the perishing." That is our main responsibility. Yet, the challenge before us is to comfort those that are in need and vexed by the spirits of darkness in control of this world. The same God who changed your circumstances can change theirs as well. He is the God of all comfort and grace. Let Him use you today to help a brother or sister in need.
