Let's Bring Jesus Back Into The Church

The church today has become a prisoner of our society. We have enshrined individuality, scientific approaches, reason, results, education, goals, management, production, effectiveness, and business methods as the new sacraments of our church. We have downplayed the message of Jesus, the leading of the Holy Spirit, the charismatic gifts, and the simplicity of worship so that we have developed a more sophisticated, professionalized church. The church we have produced today runs as smoothly as a business because it is a business and the message of Jesus has become secondary to systems and operations.

But, Paul tells us four reasons why Jesus should always be welcome in the church:

-The Church is subject to Christ.

-Christ loved the church so much that He died for it.

-Christ is sanctifying and washing the church for a purpose.

-Christ is returning for His church that has no spot, wrinkle, or blemish.

Jesus is the only foundation for the church to build on!
1 Corinthians 3:11 "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

Everything must have a proper foundation. Whether it is a marriage, a building, or a church. Without Jesus there is NO foundation.

Jesus should be the leader of the church!

Ephesians 5:23 "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the savior of the body."

God’s Word clearly tells us that Jesus is the head of the church because He is the Savior. The Pastor's Council or Deacon Board cannot be the head because they are not the Savior. The pastor cannot be the head because he has no nail scars in his hands. Jesus is the One we must follow in all areas of life.

Jesus is the doctrine the church is built upon!

2 John 9 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son."

Doctrine is simply that which we teach. Some teach truth and some teach falsehood. Those who teach falsehood pervert the Word of God. Those who teach Jesus affirm the Word of God.

Jesus has given us the reason and purpose for the existence of the church!

Every organization has a purpose. Jesus told us what that is when He said in Matthew 28:19, 20: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Sharing Jesus is the reason and purpose we exist!

Jesus is a rewarder of those that seek Him!

Revelation 22:12 "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

If the church will preach Jesus and let Him have His way in their services, people will find the answers they seek about Him.

-If you are suffering, Jesus can ease your pain.

-If you are confused, Jesus can clear your mind.

-If you are fearful, Jesus can give you peace.

-If you have bad habits, Jesus can break them for you.

-If you have vicious harmful thoughts, Jesus can scatter them for you.

-If unclean spirits are within you, He can cast them out.

-If you are hateful toward others, or indifferent, He can fill you with love.

-If you need anything whatsoever, Jesus can provide it.

-If you give yourself to Him, Jesus will give Himself to you.

-If you accept your rightful place in the household of God, Jesus will love you and take care of you forever.

Let's bring Jesus back into the church!
