Can't Nobody (Part 4)

-JESUS HAD THE POWER TO TEACH WITH AUTHORITY:

The scribes based their authority on the Old Testament scriptures.  Jesus based His authority on God Himself:

"And they were astonished at His doctrine: for He taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes."  Mark 1:22

"And they were astonished at His doctrine: for His word was with power."  
Luke 4:32

-HE HAS POWER OVER SIN:

Jesus has power to forgive sin:

"But that ye may know that the Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins." 
Matthew 9:6

-HE HAS POWER OVER SICKNESS:

"When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His word... and healed all that were sick." Matthew 8:16

-HE HAS POWER OVER NATURE:

"And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."
Mark 4:39

-HE HAS POWER OVER ALL FLESH:

"As thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given Him."  
John 17:2

-HE HAS POWER OVER HIS ENEMIES:

"Then saith Pilate unto Him,  Speakest thou not unto me?  Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above..."
John 19:10, 11

-HE HAS POWER OVER DEATH:

"Jesus said, 'I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live'." John 11:25

Through His own death and resurrection, Jesus...

"... having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."  Colossians 2:15

-HE HAD POWER OVER HIS OWN LIFE:

Jesus explained regarding His life:

"No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again..."
John 10:18

-HE HAS POWER TO EXECUTE JUDGMENT:

God has given Jesus power to execute judgment:

"And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man."
John 5:27

-HE HAS POWER OVER DEMONS:

Jesus has power and authority over demonic forces:

"And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this!  for with authority and power He commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out."  
Luke 4:36

"And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What  thing is this?  what new doctrine is this?  for with authority commandeth He even the unclean spirits, and they do obey Him."
Mark 1:27

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power:  who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the Devil; for God was with Him." 
Acts 10:38

-HE HAS POWER OVER ALL THE WORKS OF THE ENEMY:

The purpose for which Jesus came into the world was to destroy all the works of the Devil:

"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil."
