The Sneeze

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing ... and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the commencements - not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine ... until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said, "GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!" And he walked off stage ...

The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.

  1. Lord, thank you for this class of people willing to coordinate a step of defiance against the unjust ruling of an unjust court. Lord, I ask you to move the heart of the leaders in the school system to defy the unjust rulings rather than leave the battle to the kids. Lord, I ask you break the bondage of government money over the backs of the people of this nation. Lord, teach us what to do, how to do it and when to do it. Go before us to overcome the socialized corruption of the understanding of the protections you place for our welfare in the Constitution that you had crafted for our protection, our prosperity and our strength.

Lord, I ask you to grant our nation's school administrators, school boards, teachers, students and parents the knowledge and understanding they need to remove judges from their positions of authority when they make rulings that infringe on our responsibilities before you and our responsibilities before one another to uphold the covenant we have with one another before you as people of the states united by the Constitution.

Lord, I ask you to move in the hearts of the people of America to restore the foundations of righteousness, judgment and truth to the tables of our hearts and on the table of the heart of America. Lord, I ask you to overturn the unjust court rulings that have infringed upon our responsibilities to practice our religion before you as we go in and as we go out.

Lord, grant us a renewal of faith, a renewal of commitment, a willingness to acknowledge your truth, a willingness to defy social restrictions and adhere to the law of liberty in Christ Jesus. Lord, I ask you for a supernatural outpouring of your Holy Spirit upon the men, women and children of America and upon the strangers that live among us.

Grant us repentance to the acknowledging of the truth, repentance unto life, repentance unto godliness, also repentance unto faithfully keeping your good and righteous altogether commandments on the tables of our hearts that we may observe them to do them. Let this nation learn to observe to do all things whatsoever you have commanded. Let the fear of the Lord cause the people of America to depart from evil and to uphold integrity in the responsibilities of a happy people whose God is the LORD. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
