Stories (Part 4)

Romans 8:17 "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Even when your past stories try to pull you back in, you can consciously do your best to focus on your present blessings.  What do you see in your life right now?  Be thankful for it all:

-For your health.

-For your family,

-For your friends.

-For your home.

Many people don’t have these things. Remind yourself that the richest human isn’t the one who has the most, but the one who needs less.  Wealth is a mindset.  Want less and appreciate more today.

That's easier said than done of course, but with practice it does get easier.  As you practice, you transform your past stories into present moments of freedom.  Ultimately, happiness is letting go of what you assume your life is supposed to be like right now and sincerely appreciating it for everything that it is.  At the end of this day, before you close your eyes, smile and be at peace with where you’ve been and grateful for what you have.  Life is good and your past stories can't steal that from you unless you let them.

It takes practice to fully grasp in real time that what happened yesterday cannot be changed. Oftentimes we don’t even realize we’re blocking our own present blessings by holding on to those past stories.  So just do your best to bring awareness to this pray diligently so you can gradually let go of your hurtful stories.  Keep reminding yourself:

-You are not your bad days!

-You are not your mistakes!

-You are not your scars!

-You are not your past!
