-Be still and know Him as the Ruler.
Verses 8-11 “Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah."
a. The Call to Behold. Look at how God sent ONE ANGEL to destroy the Assyrian Army.
b. The Call to Believe-"Be Still and know that I am God".
-Believe in God’s Person.
We can’t know God like we should if we are rushing here and there. One of Satan’s traps is to get us so involved in activity that we have no time to be still in the presence of God.
Psalm 23:2 "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures…"
-Believe in God’s Plan.
Verse 10 declares, "I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
God is going to win. He is determined to bring glory to Himself in our circumstances.
-Believe in God’s Presence.
Verse 11 "The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge."
The Mighty God who commands all the Angels of Heaven is with us. The God of Jacob is our Refuge. Yes, the God who met Jacob when he had nothing and deserved nothing; who met Jacob in his backslidings and failures; and who took Jacob and made Israel.
