To Hayden on his 5th Birthday:
Today you are 5 years old.
You are kind, funny, inquisitive, sensitive, interesting, and a ball of fire! Your parents are all of these things too. You are strong and a wonderful hugger. Your father was and still is. Meme and I wish you a happy, happy birthday.
There are some things that you will begin to learn in life that I hope you will always remember:
-You will face some bad days. They are important so you can appreciate the good ones.
-There will be some disappointments as you get older, but I know you will be able to handle them.
-Remember that, "Life is 10% of what happens and 90% how you handle it.
-I pray you learn about humility and practice it.
-Please always let an outsider feel welcome, and always, always, be kind.
-Learn that honesty is the best policy, and that doing a hard days work will always make you feel better.
-Be a loyal friend, one that people can count on and trust and a big brother that Gannon can look up to.
-I hope you put all of these wonderful things you possess to make yourself and the world around you a better place to live in.
-Please learn how Jesus can affect your life and yield it to Him.
-Remember how to play, for you are in for a loving time.
You have such a wonderful mother. She will be the one to teach you all the good things in life. Your dad will be there to give you moral support and instruction. And as long as we live, Meme and I will try to be there fore you. We thank God every day for you, Hannah, Gracie, and Gannon. I don't know how we could have ever lived without you.
Happy Birthday again! We love you.
